What the extension does

Viewer+ is a browser extension that lets you watch a live TV show together with friends, in sync, on French streaming platforms (TF1+, M6, france.tv, arte.tv). It synchronizes playback by relaying only play, pause and position signals, and adds a shared layer over the show: chat, reactions, polls, VS battles between contestants and a brand spotting game.

The extension never hosts, stores, modifies or rebroadcasts any video. The stream you watch comes from your own broadcaster, on your own account. We do not see or transmit the video.

Data we process

• Stored on your device only: the nickname and avatar you choose, your language preference and a random identifier that represents your browser in a room. These stay in the extension local storage.
• Show detection: the extension reads the title and URL of the program in your active tab, only to know which live show a room is about and keep it synchronized. It does not read or collect the rest of the page.
• Chat and reactions: relayed in real time to the other members of your room, then dropped. They are not kept after the room ends.
• Game interactions: your answers to polls and questions, the brands you spot and the reactions you send are recorded to run the game, keep the room leaderboard and produce aggregate audience statistics.
• Viewer+ account: if you create or sign in to a Viewer+ account, your email and password are handled by Google Firebase Authentication, and your public profile (nickname, avatar) is stored in Firebase. We never store your email or password ourselves.

Aggregate audience measurement

Game interactions are used to produce aggregate and anonymous statistics about what an audience remembers and reacts to during a show. Any figure shared with a broadcaster or a brand is aggregate, expressed as rates and indices, never the activity of an identifiable person. We never expose individual data.

Service providers

• Cloudflare: hosts the real time service that relays sync, chat, reactions and game events between room members, and stores aggregate game data.
• Google Firebase: handles sign in to your Viewer+ account and stores your public profile.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising or for creditworthiness.

Retention

Chat and reactions are not retained. An empty room is deleted automatically within minutes. Aggregate game data is kept in anonymous form for audience statistics. Data stored on your device stays until you clear it or remove the extension.

Your rights

You can erase the nickname, avatar and local identifier at any time by clearing the extension storage or uninstalling it. For your Viewer+ account, you can ask us to delete it. For any request, write to us at the address below.

Children

The extension is not intended for children under thirteen and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
